The Swedish Women’s Chorus (founded 1952) and the Svea Male Chorus (founded 1906) are Swedish heritage choirs and jubilee members of the American Union of Swedish Singers. The Svea Male Chorus is the oldest Heritage choir in the nation!
In 2017, the two choirs combined their ranks to form the Swedish Singers of Seattle.
Our mission is to preserve and promote Swedish choral music.
All are welcome, whatever your background. A non-audition choir, we strive to sing mostly in Swedish and other Nordic languages. However, you don’t have to speak or understand Swedish - we have native Swedes and linguists who help us with pronunciation and understanding.
Rehearsals
The Chorus rehearses in the Stockholm room at the Swedish Club on Monday evenings from 7 - 9 pm.
Rehearsals are led by our enthusiastic Director, Dan White. Dan has been singing with the choir since 2016, and took over as Artistic Director in 2024.
